The Fleet Air Arm Museum is one of the must see attractions in the South West housing the largest collection of Naval Aircraft in Europe. This all weather attraction allows visitors to go on board the first British built Concorde, to try out as a helicopter pilot on the Super X Simulator, and to witness a take off and landing sequence via its award winning Aircraft Carrier Experience. There is a licensed restaurant, childrens adventure park, picnic area and shop all with free parking. Open April - Oct 10am - 5.30 and Nov - March 10am - 4.30pm.

This museum is situated within the heritage and information centre and is free to everyone. There are various displays to be seen here including the Romans in south somerset and the Henry Stiby Gun Collection as well as history of local industry, costumes and textiles. There temporary exhibitions feature local and national history and projects by local groups.

Chard Museum has been featured on both radio and television and depicts the history of the town through a series of exhibits featuring notable people and events which have shaped its development from its mention in the Doomsday Book to the present day. Included are features on John Stringfellow, whose aircraft produced the worlds first powered flight, James Gillingham who was an early pioneer of artificial limbs, and many others.

Crewkerne and District Museum and Heritage Centre is situated in an attractive historic house in the Market Square, just acros the road from the Local Information Centre. Inside visitors can see how families lived in the 1950's with a realistic kitchen filled with objects from those times. The development of Crewkern both architecturally and historically is shown through photographs, objects and pictures which illustrate life over the last two centuries. Research facilities are also available allowing familys to be traced using parish records, census returns and maps.
