This national trust owned local historic mill has lots of tourist information available for visitors to the area, the cotton mill gives people a real sense of what life was like in the industrial revolution. With guided tours available of the nearby Apprentice House, plus demonstrations of one of few still working mills from this period. The gardens and walks around the area should include Styal village, which was built for the workers at the mill. Educational days out can be arranged and refreshments are available from the coffee shop and restaurant on site.The mill is open all year round between 11.00-4.00pm. One of the local national trust attractions worth visiting, contact them directly for more tourist information, however the Hare Hill gardens and woodland is open from April to October (Wednesday,Thursday,Saturday,Sunday)and in May the gardens are open 7 days a week so that more visitors can see the gardens at this colourful time of year. Amazing plants within an attractive walled garden complete with sculptures to enjoy, visitors can walk through from here to the National Trust Alderley Edge site. Signposted from the main Alderley Edge to Macclesfield road.
