Stockports unique Air Raid Shelters have been carved into the natural sandstone cliffs in Stockport Town Centre.Step back in time to 1940s wartime Britain and experience the sights and sounds of the homefront.When the shelters opened in 1939,they were the largest purpose built civilian air raid shelters in the country.Re - opened in 1996,the shelters have been imaginatively restored to give visitors a feel of the era.

Bramhall Hall is a magnificent black and white timber framed tudor manor with Victorian additions,spanning six centuries and set in 70 acres of parkland.It gives a unique insight into the families and servants who have lived and worked here.

Hat Works is the UKs only museum dedicated to the hatting industry,hats and headwear.This award winning visitor attraction offers two floors of interactive exhibits taking you on a journey through the history of stockports once thriving hatting industry.The museum is home to a recreated hat factory with some 20 fully restored working Victorian style machines and a fantastic collection of over 400 hats from around the world.
