City and Islington College was formed in 1993 through a merger of four institutions, which had operated over 13 sites across Islington, Hackney and Tower Hamlets. The new buildings were designed to the highest standards to reflect the quality of our work and the success of our students. Alongside the development of the new buildings, the management of teaching and learning was reorganised, and the five centres emerged. A communications campaign accompanied the changes – 541: five centres, four sites, one amazing College.
