This area near the town has a wide range of open walks through the forest that are available to people of all different walking and hiking abilities. The Lovell Telescope has stood proudly over the Cheshire Plain since its completion in 1957 and is the flagship of the Jodrell Bank Observatory. The observatory is a place of learning, teaching and research for the many engineers, astronomers and students who develop and use the radio telescopes here. It is also a place of wonder and inspiration for the many people who come to our visitors centre which can provide more details of tourist information.

A great place to visit with lots of tourist information, this beautiful ancient manor house was first licensed as a family chapel back in 1365, today it is owned and run by the Richards family.Open between May and October, also try a different type of concert hall, with special open air concerts and theatre in the grounds arranged between June and August. The Hall has it's own orchard tea rooms where visitors can relax and enjoy freshly prepared refreshments.The Hall is also used for many local Craft fairs which take place during August and is also available as a local wedding venue.

This family run farm is a great place to take the kids on a day out, they make and sell their own ice cream, called Hill Billy ice cream, plus they have a nature trails to follow and plenty of farm animals and wildlife to see. There is no charge for admission and the local business relies on sales of ice cream and also from the on site tea room. Have a drive out into the countryside and support one of the local award winning businesses that provides lots of tourist information and also educational school trips.
