Our clean and interesting cafe set on 2 levels is quite See more. easy to spot on Kirkland on the way in to town from the South.  Our menu is varied and we have ever changing specials from Smoked haddock and specist pies. There is car parking all around us, so why not pop in and treat yourself to a fantastic breakfast or lunch. A few reviews: 1. 4* Smoked haddock all the trimmings ,apple crumble custard cup of tea all for under £10, brilliant. 2. 4* Me and the mad plumber go at least once a week for breakfast,the owners work hard to get it as good as it is. 3. 5* Really lovely well priced food.The breakfast is wonderful and the service is great.A real traditional 'greasy spoon' but the food is great. The Joshua Tree, Licensed Cafe & Bistro in Kendal at the Gateway to the Lake District, is housed in one of Kendal's oldest buildings that's tucked away down one of the many "Yards". (Just behind H See more. enry Roberts' Bookshop) It is very popular with both locals and visitors and caters for all tastes. The ancient building dates from the 1620s and many original features are still evident today.  The old oak beams, the wooden floors, real log fire and the sunny courtyard all add to the warm and friendly atmosphere. Upstairs is light and open with tables & chairs as well as couches in which to enjoy a relaxing Italian coffee. Downstairs is warm and cosy with the log fire and exposed oak beams, whilst there are more tables and chairs in the delightful cobbled courtyard which catches the sun most of the day!   . Hide.

Canteen Baba Ganoush is open from 9.30am ish to 4.00pm Tuesday through to Saturday. Why call it the canteen? Well, it is certainly not your typical cafe. Yes, we do Bacon rolls, Eggy bread, Sandwiches See more. and Baked potatoes but you will also find Risotto, Cassoulets, slow roasted meat dishes and vegetarian mezze boards.  Given the fact that one of the co-owners is a life long vegetarian, we pretty much cover all the culinary bases.  Having said all of that we are certainly not a restaurant. We are a daytime eatery with a no booking policy and a no frills no fuss approach and we like to think our prices reflect this. Hide.
