More about Bolton

Bolton-le-Moors was a settlement in a natural valley on the West Pennine Moors on the banks of the River Croal, the name Bolton comes from Bolt and Tun. le-Moors is merely a description of the land that surrounds Bolton (moorland).

Bolton's got a lot to offer from museums jam-packed with ancient artefacts to breathtaking countryside and everything else in between, award-winning attractions, behind the scenes tours, fast-paced sport and you may even bump in to a celebrity on your visit as Bolton is the home town of Peter Kay, Vernon Kay, Dave Spikey, Amir Khan, Patrick McGuiness and Sara Cox.
