AA Hibbert’s objectives are to achieve 100% customer satisfaction and to carry out work to the highest professional standards.
As a National Institute of Carpet Fitters (NICF) Master Fitter Allen has proved competence at the highest level possible and has been regularly assessed by the institute after providing 3 written references from people who vouched for the high standard and quality of his work.
He also successfully completed a written and practical examination under the supervision and scrutiny of an NICF qualified assessor, at the specialist training centre in Nottingham.
The practical examination included installation of a secondary backed carpet to a hall, straight stairs, bull nose step, kite winder step and production of joins in both secondary and felt backed carpets.
He was required to provide his own comprehensive set of tools and work from his own fully fitted and liveried van.
3 installations in 3 separate customers’ houses were carried out and scrutinised over a period of 3 months. The carpets were woven and secondary backed, fitted on the stretch to fit method to a flat area, a stairs including a bull nose step, and kite winder steps, with each installation including the making of perfect join.
A comprehensive 4 day training course was passed covering all aspects of professional carpet, laminate and vinyl floor fitting to exacting standards. BS 5325 was adhered to and all main points affecting advanced fitting were covered including:

- Carpet construction and its effect on fitting
- Methods of stretching carpets to correct bows and skews
- Stairs, including spiral
- Joins and seaming, including heat seaming
- Scrim and hot melt adhesion; Adhesives
- Underlay types and suitability
- Repairs; Re-tufting
