Recruitment
Information Evenings are held to enable members of the public, who are over 18, and who are thinking of volunteering in Wakefield to come along, meet some existing volunteers and find out more information about what Samaritans do by being an active listening volunteer on the telephone, answering emails and conducting face to face meetings at the centre as well as information about support volunteering – helping with fund raising, publicity events, coffee mornings, market stalls, cleaning or any of the other assorted jobs that help Samaritans to operate.
We are now recruiting potential volunteers for initial training.
Our next information sessions, at the centre, will be ;
Monday 20th of June at 7.30pm
Thursday 14th of July at 7.30pm
Saturday 13th of August at 3.00pm
Please ring our dedicated recruitment specialist, Lesley, for further help, advice and information on 07514 545 757.
Alternatively email her at: renee170913@yahoo.co.uk
We hope you will be able to attend one of these sessions. You will meet some of our volunteers. They will explain the branch and tell you what Samaritans is all about. If you want some moral support please bring along a friend. We have excellent facilities here at Wakefield with very good wheelchair access and disabled facilities for both entrance to the building as well as getting to the upper floor.
We look forward to meeting you so put a date to put in your diary!
