Last year, 2009, the Bradford Bengali Hindu Cultural Society was pleased to accept the Lord and Lady Mayoress of Bradford to the Durga Puja as honoured guests.
They attended our festival celebrations, joining in our prayers and celebrations with the friends and families of our community.

The whole of the Durga Puja and Diwali Festival of Lights celebrations can include all of our friends and families, some of whom are pictured here in front of our Durga goddess.
Last year we had a total of 1500 people celebrating with us from all over the UK, and we all enjoyed the songs, music, arts, dancing and of course food!

Prayer is an important part of our religion and culture, and here are a few of our community engaged in a prayer ritual that is central to our cultural heritage and part of what we aim to help pass on and share with others in and around our community.
