Community in Wakefield
24 hours a day. Samaritans are here to talk to you any time of the day or night. Common reasons for people calling a Samaritan may include: - job related stress or overwork, financial worries, loss of a friend or family member, relationship and family problems. Our volunteers offer emotional support to people in distress and despair, including those which may lead to suicide, on the telephone, face to face, by email and by letter. We do not offer advice, but we do give you the time and space to talk through your problems in a discreet, confidential and if necessary, anonymous manner. West Yorkshire has Samaritans branches in Leeds, Wakefield, Barnsley, Bradford and Sheffield. We are actively recruiting new suitable volunteers all of the time, listening & non listening. If this interests you, please feel free to contact our branch using any of the telephone numbers or by email.
