This attractive boroughs proud heritage is enjoying a modern cultural renaissance, with the spectrum of attractive and intriguing culture displayed throughout the town. Why not spend a few relaxing hours wondering around the contemporary art gallery in Newton-le-Willows? Here are displayed the work of over 50 artists and you can view some of the finest original paintings, photographs and sculpture in the north.

Another fine feature that compliments this truly cosmopolitan northern borough is the newly refurbished Theatre Royal where you can see a varied program of drama, dance, opera & musicals all year round.

At the heart of St Helens is the hot tourist attraction, The World of Glass. This fun day trip includes a journey into the unique Victorian furnace tunnels along with 30 other live shows throughout the day. Come and explore them for yourself and witness the very spot where history was made and glassmaking was revamped. Not forgetting the highlight of the day… live glass blowing!

St Helens is a Borough that is 65% rural so there is plenty of scope for countryside recreation. If the buzz of the city life is not for you, it is possible to enjoy the spectacular view from the top of Billinge Hill out across the Lancashire Plains to North Wales and the sea or follow the Sankey Valley Nature Trail for a change to amble around the picturesque Carr Mill Dam - Merseysides largest inland body of water!
