TWO TYPES OF ADVERTISING:

1.  Stimulative - Generic
2.  Directional – Call to action

Stimulative / Generic advertising – Will put your name in front of people and start to germinate seeds in their mind regarding a future purchase. The creation and content of the advert may hold all the salient points, but nothing within the advert will make a customer do anything immediately. This is what drains your advertising budget and costs enormous amounts of money to stay prominent in newspapers and directories and is commonly known as drip, drip, drip advertising to keep sowing seeds in the hope of a purchase.

Directional/ Call to action advertising – Creates urgency in someone’s mind and accelerates a purchase as the seeds have been sown by stimulative advertising. This is usually done by creating an offer and makes it an urgency to ‘buy now’ because the buyer may feel they will lose out on the offer available.
