St Giles Hospice in Whittington is a registered Charity (No. 509014). Celebrating its 25th Anniversary in 2008 the Hospice has been offering high quality medical and nursing care for local people living with Cancer and other serious illnesses. The Hospice also offers help and support for their families and carers. Care is offered to locals in South Staffordshire, North Birmingham, and North Warwickshire.
Not only does the Hospice offer care within its premises in Whittington, but provides individually tailored care in patients own homes.
Formed in 1983 by the then Vicar of Whittington, Reverend Paul Brothwell the original premises was the Vicarage. The Reverend was concerned about the level of care given to the terminally ill within local hospitals.
One of the best known and most respected Charities in the area, St Giles has over 150 staff, 900 volunteers, thirteen Charity Shops, the most successful Hospice Lottery in the UK and £4million spent every year on providing care for the local community.
Every Year hundreds of local women take part in a Solstice Walk through the streets and parks of Lichfield , this year it takes place on the night of 21st of June and hopefully they will raise more than the fantastic £50 000 raised last year.
There are many ways to raise much needed funds for this well deserving Charity, see the website for further information.
