The Wellington in Athersley North is one of the traditional public houses in Barnsley where you will always find a warm welcome. This Free House offers a selection of beers and lagers including John Smiths and Carling; and a range of spirits. If you choose Smirnoff Red Vodka, Bacardi or Captain Morgans Rum, Famous Grouse Whisky, or Gordons Gin we have a special offer where you can double up for £1 extra. We are happy to have children in the lounge up to 7pm and there is also a separate children’s room. In the warmer weather you can relax outdoors in our beer garden. 

On Monday nights the Wellington pool team play and new players are always welcome. You can play pool FREE every Tuesday, but come early as this offer ends at 7pm! Thursday is quiz night when you can have a bit of fun, meet with old friends and make new ones. Friday and Saturday are karaoke nights – come along and have a go you may discover a hidden talent! 

Our lunch menu changes every day and is served from 12noon ‘til 6pm Monday to Friday and 12 ‘til 3 on Sundays. Don’t forget the offer coupon at the bottom of this page.

The Wellington is open from 12 noon until midnight Monday to Thursday, 12 until 12.30am Friday/Saturday, and 12 until 11.30pm on Sunday.
