The Empress Ballroom

Our function suite is available for corporate events, christenings, birthdays, engagement parties, charity nights and all sorts of special party occasion. The Empress ballroom itself has been completely refurbished and is now fully licensed to conduct civil wedding ceremonies. For your dream wedding and reception this 1920’s Art-Deco ballroom with one of the few remaining fully sprung dance floors in the country is a stunning and unique location. We can accommodate up to 220 seated guests for lunch, and approximately 350 for a night time buffet reception. Our venue manager and chef who are fully trained in catering and hospitality will be happy to assist with the planning of your special day.

The ballroom hosts a variety of live entertainment in the evenings with guest comedians, Rock and Roll Nights, Ladies Nights, Charity Nights, tribute nights to such stars as Tom Jones and Elvis Presley; and there are band festivals with ballroom and line dancing and Please visit the events page on our website for more details.

Adjoining the ballroom is the Empress Café and Bistro where you will notice the difference that really fresh ingredients can make. Our chef is committed to offering only the very best in quality food and you will not eat a finer meal anywhere. There is also a fully licensed bar.
