Established in 1997 and previously known as the ‘Jewel of India’ this restaurant is well known for its friendly service and top quality Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine, as demonstrated by its many loyal and repeat customers.
After going through a complete refurbishment, expansion and creation of a new menu in May 2010, they re-launched themselves as ‘Jewels’ which has now added a real ‘touch of class’ to the Indian dining experience. Whilst creating a modern, elegant and comfortably decorated restaurant, it still retains its warm welcome, together with the friendly and quality service it has always been renowned for.
The menu has been extended, with new and exciting dishes that provide a tasteful selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. All meals are prepared to order, using only the finest fresh ingredients available, ensuring each dish retains its maximum flavour. Jewels are also keen to promote ‘healthy options’ in their cooking by using ‘low-fat’ cooking methods including only the minimum amount of oil. As a result Jewels are a favourite eating place for members of a well known slimming organisation.
The menu includes the following specialities:-
Tandoori Chicken and Lamb Specialities: Chicken breast or lamb, marinated overnight in herbs and spices, freshly grilled in the clay oven, then coated in a variety of different sauces to create your chosen dish.
Chicken and Lamb Dishes: Home-style dishes made with 100% chicken breast or lamb and cooked using traditional methods.
Jewels Specialities: These dishes, although fairly similar in core ingredients, incorporate individual tastes through different blends of selected herbs and spices.
Tandoori Specialities: Tandoori is a barrel shaped open charcoal clay oven. This special feature imparts a distinctive flavour to all Tandoori dishes. Using only the freshest available ingredients and spices they ensure all the dishes retain their maximum flavour. All served on a sizzling plate.
Sizzling Dishes: These dishes are initially slow cooked in the clay oven, imparting a distinctive taste, before being pan fried and served sizzling on a hot plate to your table. Flavours include Garlic Sweet Chilli where the dish is cooked with garlic, sweet mango chilli sauce and herbs and spices. Also Garlic Sweet and Sour where the dish cooked is cooked with onions, green peppers, coriander, fresh green chillies, yoghurt, lemon juice, mango sauce and selected herbs and spices.

For outstanding value, why not try their 'All you can eat Buffet', available every lunchtime for £9.95 and Sunday to Thursday evenings for £13.95. Unlike other restaurants who offer buffets, Jewels' buffets are always freshly cooked to order.

Jewels are a fully licensed Indian Restaurant with a fine selection of wines available to complement your meal, as well as serving beers, spirits and soft drinks.
