WHAT IS EFT ?
EFT is a powerful, relatively new discovery that combines two well established sciences giving benefit from both at the same time:
1. Mind Body Medicine
2. Acupuncture (without needles).
Derived from Acupuncture which has been used for many centuries by ancient civilisations, EFT was developed by Gary Craig IN San Francisco after studying with psychologists, psychotherapists and kineosologists and was brought to the international world through his teachings in 1997.
In essence, EFT is an emotional version of acupuncture wherein we stimulate certain meridian points by tapping on them with our fingertips. This addresses a new cause for emotional issues (unbalanced energy meridians). Properly done, this frequently reduces the therapeutic process from months or years down to hours or minutes. And, since emotional stress can contribute to pain, disease and physical ailments, we often find that EFT provides astonishing physical relief.
THE CAUSE OF ALL NEGATIVE EMOTIONS IS A DISRUPTION IN THE BODY’S ENERGY SYSTEM.
HOW DOES IT WORK ?
EFT clears out emotional debris which exists in most people and may have built unknowingly since childhood and lurk in the sub conscious mind causing mental and physical issues.
Acupuncture and EFT are both based on the meridians within our bodies as shown here and can be likened to rivers flowing freely when all is in balance. Negative experiences throughout most people’s lives can leave behind small or large pieces of debris which can eventually form a dam which stops the meridian (or river) flowing. EFT can eradicate both small and large issues which thereby clear the dam allowing freedom of movement of the meridians and consequently well being of both mind and body.
THE BASIC TAPPING POINTS:
Sore or Tender Spot
located in the upper right and left portions of the chest, these can be found approximately 3 inches below the top of the breastbone. This is where lymphatic congestion can occur and rubbing disperses the congestion.
Eyebrow
this point is located at the beginning of the eyebrow closest to the nose. This point governs the Bladder meridian and effectively relates to control matters.
Side of the Eye
located on the bone bordering the outside corner of the eye, this point governs the gall bladder where rage and betrayal reside.
Under Eye
this point is found on the bone under the eye and catches the stomach meridian where issues such as not having enough, greed or contentment and fulfilment.
Under the Nose
This point is between the bottom of the nose and the upper lip and is a Governing meridian and relates to past issues.
Chin
the chin point, underneath low lower lip and above the chin, is called Central and relates to stepping into the future.
Collar Bone
this is the protrusion about an inch below the U-shaped notch at the top of the breastbone. This point governs the Kidney meridian and is particularly useful for matters relating to fear or seeking peace.
Underarm
found about 4 inches down from the armpit, this is the Spleen point and governs rejection, seeking approval, judgement and perfection.
POINTS ALSO USED IN THE ‘FULL ROUND’
Thumb (TH) On the outside edge of the thumb at a point level with the base of the thumbnail, this point governs the Lung meridian.
Index Finger (IF) On the side of the index finger facing the thumb level with the base of the fingernail, this point governs the large intestine.
Middle Finger (MF) On the side of the middle finger facing the index finger, level with the base of the fingernail, this point governs circulatory and sex meridians.
Little Finger (LF) On the inner side of the little finger, this point governs the Heart meridian.
Karate Chop (KC) The Karate Chop point is on the fleshy part of the outside of the hand between the top of the wrist bone and the base of the little finger. This governs the small intestine.
Gamut Point (GP) The Gamut Point is a point on the back of either hand and is ½ inch behind the mid-point between the knuckles at the base of the ring finger and the little finger.
This corresponds to the Tri-Heater-3 meridian which in turn corresponds to depression, despair, grief, hopelessness, etc.
The Therapist will discuss your issues with you and the areas in which you would like assistance, and will then work with you to tap through a sequence of tapping points which will help to eradicate or greatly reduce the problem, depending how deep seated it may be.

Unfortunately, in 2007 I found out that I had developed Osteo arthritis in my right shoulder which had been dislocating for over ten years. Two reconstruction operations and over two years of rehab later and I'm on the mend. The pain during my recovery was sometimes unbearable and prescribed painkillers often wouldn't even stop the toothache like pain, that I suffered in the shoulder joint.Bev offered me some Reiki sessions whilst chatting at a party to see if she could help.At first, I was a little sceptical as to whether it would help me, If the strong painkillers wouldn't numb it how could Reiki? After the first session, which was a wonderfully relaxing experience, I went a week without any pain at all.I didn't feel any changes straight away, I got the relief from the joint pain about 12-24hrs after the session. I had a further 4 session when I was really struggling between the two operations and each time there was a marked improvement in my condition. If, like me, you suffer from similar aches and pains, then give Reiki a go, it may be just what you need. Thanks BevDan Coates, Macclesfield
