Introduction

Hidden at the top of an old, cobbled alleyway in Holmfirth, you will find the 300 year-old four-storey building that is Daisy Lane Books.  It is a browsers' paradise with as many as 25,000 good quality second hand books in stock.

Daisy Lane Books is brimming with character, made up of tiny rooms, narrow steps and hidden seats by the window, where you could sit for hours amongst the books. It is a treasure trove of books old and new, you could easily spend hours exploring the hidden gems in the quaint little bookshop.

Friendly owner Barry runs the shop with his mother Joan, they look after the books and the beautiful, old building along with their two cats, Slap and Tickle, who you may find lounging on the front steps or having a catnap amongst the books upstairs.

Whether you are looking for some good poetry, philosophy or even a children's pop-up picture book, be sure to take a look in the neatly categorised sections of Daisy Lane Bookshop. They  stock any book they think may be of interest to their customers; from atlas' to Shakespeare to Beatrix Potter.

The local students from Huddersfield University are regular customers and the shop captures the imagination of many young customers who come in with their parents to search in the large children's section.

Many of the children's books can be bought for 50p, including classics such as Harry Potter and Beatrix Potter. Adult paperback books are generally £2 and some even £1.

Barry and Joan have a wide array of books available to purchase, including first edition books, autobiographies and many novels.
