Follets Bed and Breakfast

Follets is an attractive country Bed and Breakfast in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside at the quaint, partly thatched roof village of Easton Royal near Pewsey. The village is conveniently located for visits to the many Wiltshire White Horses, the ancient stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury as well as the Kennet and Avon Canal where barge trips can be taken. Guests are accommodated in 3 double rooms and 2 twin rooms. Hearty traditional breakfasts are served including Follets own free range eggs. The large garden is ideal for sunny days in this quiet village residence. There is a traditional English pub just 2 miles away.

The village of Pewsey is just 2 miles or so away and has a selection of local pubs and restaurants as well as being located on the Kennet and Avon canal where you can take a walk along the towpath and see the barges and the decorative coloured bargeware adorning some of them. Barge trips are also possible here and further up the canal at Hungerford and Devizes.

The historic town of Marlborough is just 6 miles away from Follets and makes a great day out. It has the widest high street in England. There are many slightly longer day trips possible from the bed and breakfast. You can easily visit the historic cities of Bath, Oxford, Salisbury and Bristol. Bath is an architecturally beautiful Georgian spa town and you can still visit the spa today and take a tour. A brand new modern spa is also now available for a relaxing half day or whole day. Salisbury has a beautiful cathedral.

The famous Cotswold villages of Bourton-on-the-Water, Bibury and Chipping Camden are also in easy driving distance as is the beautiful new Forest with its showcase villages of Lyndhurst, Beaulieu (where there is a motor museum), and Burley.

There is a Victorian Pumping Station at Crofton where there are 2 Cornish Beam Engines, one of which is the oldest in the world still performing it's intended purpose and in it's original location. This is also near to a windmill at Wilton which still grinds corn on selected days.
